1. What are Sync Tools

In the past, if we wanted to work across multiple devices, we could only manually transfer files through external hard drives, USB drives, and other methods, which was inefficient and time-consuming. "Sync tools" are products designed to solve this need. Through cloud-based sync tools, we can easily keep important files consistent and synchronized across multiple devices.

2. How Sync Tools Work

Most sync tools automatically create a dedicated sync "folder" after installation. The sync tool client automatically uploads files in this folder to cloud servers and synchronizes them in real-time to every device that has the same sync tool installed, achieving synchronization.

3. Limitations of Sync Tools

Sync tools are not cloud storage space; they are mainly used for synchronizing and backing up data. Files will still occupy local storage space.
When using Eagle with these cloud sync features, please ensure your network environment is stable to guarantee files can complete synchronization successfully.
Do not use unauthorized or unofficial sync tools to avoid performance limitations, data loss, or even disputes.

How to Set Up Google Drive

Google Drive allows us to conveniently sync files and folders across multiple devices. Therefore, we can use the same mechanism to sync Eagle library folders across multiple devices:

Step 1: Download Google Drive Client

Go to the Google Drive homepage and click the download button at the top of the page

Click the Download button in the Backup and Sync section to start downloading

Step 2: Install Google Drive Client

Double-click the downloaded file, and the system will automatically install it. After installation is complete, open the Google Drive client "Google Backup and Sync".

Sign in to your Google account

Step 3: Set Up Folders to Sync

If you only need Google Drive to sync Eagle libraries, we can temporarily skip using Google computer backup features in this step. Uncheck all items and click Next.

By default, choose to sync all content in "My Drive" and click Next.

Step 4: Open Google Drive Sync Folder

By default, the client will automatically open your Google Drive sync folder. If it doesn't open automatically, you can find it at this path: /Username/Google Drive

Step 5: Drag the "Eagle Library" into the Google Drive Sync Folder

Step 6: Return to Eagle, Click Software Menu "Library" > "Load Other Library..."

Step 7: Select the New Eagle Library Path, and Setup is Complete!

Step 8: Go to Other Devices, Repeat the Above Installation Steps, Wait for the Client to Auto-Sync, Then Load the New Library Path to Complete Multi-Device Sync Requirements.
