Eagle is a local asset management software where all asset content is stored on your local hard drive. Since Eagle does not have built-in sync functionality and the product serial number is only used for software activation, you need to manually migrate your asset library when switching computers.

Backup and Migration Steps

To transfer your existing asset library to a new computer, please follow these steps:

Back up the asset library on your old computer:
- Compress the entire asset library folder into ZIP format
- Ensure the compression process fully scans all file levels to avoid transfer interruptions
- Use copy-paste method for backup to prevent data transfer failures
- Only consider deleting the asset library from the old device after migration is complete and confirmed error-free
Suggestions to speed up the migration process:
- Using SSD drives instead of HDD drives can significantly improve read/write speeds
- Selecting "Store" level compression (packaging only without compression) can save considerable time
Set up Eagle on your new computer:
- Download and install Eagle software from the official website
- Activate the software using your product serial number
- Select your migrated asset library folder through "Library" > "Switch Library" menu
