Eagle is a local application software that requires the complete library to be saved on the local hard drive to function properly. When you need to migrate your library from a Windows computer to a Mac device, you can follow these steps to ensure a safe migration.

Pre-migration Preparation

Backup is Important: First, backup your library on the Windows computer
Note: Eagle does not have sync functionality, and the product serial number is only used for software activation, not for data synchronization

Migration Steps

Compress the Library
- Compress the library into a zip format folder
- Ensure all hierarchical files are completely scanned before transfer to avoid transfer interruption
Safe Transfer
- Transfer the backup using copy and paste method
- For large libraries, transfer may take a considerable amount of time, please be patient
Setup on New Device
- Install Eagle software on the macOS device
- Activate the software using your serial number (can be used on multiple devices with unlimited activations)
- Select your library folder through "Library" > "Switch Library"
Verification and Cleanup
- Confirm that the library content on the new device is complete and accurate
- Only delete the library on the old device after successful verification

Suggestions to Improve Migration Efficiency

Using SSD drives instead of HDD drives can significantly improve transfer speed
Selecting "Store" compression level (packaging only without compression) when packing can save time
