Under normal circumstances, Eagle is able to receive download tasks, which means your browser can access the link address you wish to download. However, when Eagle cannot access the required link address, it will prompt a download timeout. This situation may occur for several reasons:

Reason 1: Browser can access, but Eagle cannot download

Problem Analysis

Many users use VPN plugins or browser proxy tools to access Dribbble, Behance, Pinterest. These tools are limited to browsers only and cannot allow other applications on the computer (such as Eagle) to access these websites. Therefore, although users can browse images normally in the browser, Eagle will encounter "download timeout" when attempting to download.

Solution

Enable the "Download through the browser" feature in Eagle browser extension
- Eagle browser extension version 3.1.0 and above introduced the "Download through the browser" feature, allowing download tasks to be handled directly by the browser. This means that even if VPN is limited to the browser only, Eagle can still download images smoothly.
- Click the Eagle extension icon in your browser
- Go to extension settings, find and enable "Download through the browser"
- Make sure your Eagle browser extension is updated to version 3.1.0 or higher
Use system-level VPN to allow all applications on the computer to access external networks
If you want Eagle to directly access Dribbble, Behance, Pinterest, we recommend using system-level VPNs such as Shadowsocks, Lantern, Clash, V2Ray, etc., to route all network requests from the entire system through VPN proxy. This way, even without using the "Download via Browser" feature, Eagle can directly access and download images.

Reason 2: Image download links require login to access

Problem Analysis

Some websites (such as Dribbble, Behance) may require users to log in before viewing and downloading images. However, Eagle cannot simulate the browser's login state, resulting in inability to download these restricted images normally.

Solution

Enable the "Download through the browser" feature
Make sure the browser is logged into the target website, then use the Eagle browser extension to collect images, which will be downloaded through the browser's network permissions.
Use Eagle's "Bookmark" feature
If some websites still cannot download images directly, you can add the website to Eagle bookmarks, then open and log into the website within Eagle, and try downloading again.

Reason 3: Download link temporarily invalid

Problem Analysis

The target file's server may experience temporary failures or maintenance, preventing access or downloading of files.

Solution

Wait for some time until the server returns to normal before attempting to download again.
If the website is inaccessible for an extended period, you can contact the website's technical support to understand the specific access situation.

Reason 4: Current network connection is unstable

Problem Analysis

Unstable network connections may cause download interruptions, timeouts, or corrupted downloaded files.

Solution

Switch to a more stable network (for example, use wired network or switch Wi-Fi connections).
Avoid downloading during high network load, and if possible, choose to operate during periods when network conditions are good.
